As of Friday, August 25, I am no longer in the Lakes Region Art Association Gallery. This was a decision I made based on changes I see coming in my life. Jim and I recently signed up with an online marketing guru to help promote and sell my books. Since I have five books (well, one is waiting in the wings) and mostly only my friends and relatives know about them, I thought it was time I put more energy into getting them on the internet where you can literally reach the world.
I am still showing some of my work at VynnArt Gallery in Meredith, NH but that may be ending soon, also. But like my books, all of my artwork is available for sale on the internet through my website. I believe art is a harder sell on the internet than books are since people usually want to see the painting in person. But that may be the only place I'm selling them at this time. I do plan on participating in a few Holiday shows this fall, too. And locally, we have a gift store in town that is selling just a few of my pieces - I'm trying to convince her to set up a regular space for the local artists. We'll see how that goes!
Every time we reach a new chapter in our lives we can meet it with anxiety and negativity or with excitement and anticipation of a better road to travel on that will take us to a destination that will change our lives for the better. I am definitely choosing to remain excited about going forward with my books and getting them into the hands of more readers. And hopefully my words can impress others and give them hope for a better more meaningful life, as well. You never know what impact you will have on someone who is reading your book. That is one of the attractions for me of spending my days putting pen to paper (and/or fingers to keyboard, since I do both!)
