The Write Place
Here you will find everything to do with writing, whether it is my writing or what I'm learning from reading books on writing. Reading, vocabulary, and grammar are the tools of the trade. The very best people to learn from are the ones who are seasoned writers who teach writing. You would be wise to enlist them as your mentors, as I have.
Book Reviews
I'm a big reader - always have been. I Love Books - can't have too many books. It is a serious addiction, but a healthy one, I think. So, it makes perfect sense for me to share what I have read here.
I read a wide variety of books so I will identify the books by the following: Kids, Tweens (pre- and early teen), Young Adults, and Adults
My ratings are as follows: 5 Star - Excellent; 4 Star - Very Good; 3 Star - Just OK; 2 Star - So-So; 1 Star - Don't Waste Your Time
Kids
Parents and Grandparents.....
Kids books are among some of my favorite books. There are so many creative authors out there who have learned how to engage the young mind for more than five minutes - a challenge, for sure! In my review of these books, I include books that are written for pre-schoolers up to tween ages (3 years old to 8 years old). There will be picture books but also books that have a story that a 3 year old could follow. And I also include chapter books that aren't too complex for an 8 year old to understand. If there are any books in this age range that you would like a review for, just send me an email and I will be happy to provide my review.
Tweens
Parents and Grandparents.....
Here you will find book reviews for Tweens, ages 8-12. The goal here is to introduce you to books that would be appropriate for kids who are between 8 and 12 and who love to read. Since I tend to look for books that are Newbury and Caldicott winners, most of the books I've read tend to be gems. But there are also some that were suggested to me by others who enjoy a good kids' book, too! If you enjoy these books, don't hesitate to send me an email and let me know! Or suggest books for me to read before you purchase it and I will review it for you. Thanks!
Young Adults
Parents and Grandparents.....
This can be a tough category of books to review since this covers the ages between 13 and 18 - junior high to high school ages. Of course, if your child is precocious at age 13 they will be interested in this category of books. But if your 13 year old is less mature for their age, they might still be interested in some of the tween books that I've reviewed. If there is a book you would like me to review before you purchase, send me an email and I will give my review on my website.
Adults
This is where I review books that are meant for adults - that means anyone over the age of 18. Of course, there are those under 18 years old who may find many of these books to their liking, particularly the classics which include most of my favorites. I've been on a mission to read the Pulitzer fiction winners and I think anyone who can understand these books, and many are also required reading in high school, should enjoy these classics. If you have a suggestion for a book you would like to read that you want my review of, I would be happy to assist you.

This is where I get to sound off on anything and everything that isn't necessarily related to writing (although it could be). In other words, What I Have to Say About....
ALL - A Little Literature
I had this idea sometime ago - to share some of what I'm writing in my short stories and novels. I came up with the idea "ALL" - A Little Literature with the tag line being "ALL you need to read" - A Little Literature.
I also thought that this would be a great way to put some of my writing out into the world, a little at a time. You might get a paragraph or two. Or maybe an entire Flash Fiction story. But hopefully you'll come back for more. I welcome your feedback.
