the new girlsIt's been awhile since my last post. And like my title says, it was life that took me away from writing. Just three days after my birthday, we lost our 8-year old Pomeranian, Felix,  due to an incompetent veterinarian. I've posted this already so I won't go into details here. But it was devastating to us and I couldn't do much but cry for weeks and had no motivation to do anything that was the least bit productive.

Although I told my husband, 'no more dogs', in the 38 out of 40 years that he and I have been together, we have had at least one dog. So we started looking, and looking, and found that there are more scammers out there than legitimate shelters for dogs that desperately need homes. All they care about is the money and are looking for outrageous amounts of $$$$ for mixed breeds with no guarantee for anything. Then a friend of mine told me about a friend of hers who found a dog at a shelter 40 minutes from where we live. We stopped in for a visit because we saw a couple of their website that looked adorable. They, of course, were already adopted but we filled out paper work and they told us to check the dogs that were 'coming soon' on their website. We found a few puppies that were coming in and took the first available meeting. After less than an hour, we had picked out two and a short 4 days later, we picked up our new pups. We've had then almost a month now and Jim and I are learning, again, about the commitment to bringing not just one but two puppies into our home. We expected to have a long and happy life with our two new bundles of joy! Also, we were told the mom is Chihuahua and we think the dad may have been a Jack Russell Terrier.

And now I have a new story to tell!
