Summer. Certainly not my best writing time. Just too much going on; from taking care of two puppies (yes, that's right, we got two - sisters!) to golfing, to taking care of outdoor plants and veggies, to indoor house cleaning, to just trying to have some kind of sanity in this crazy world we now live in. And also working on updating my 3 author/writing websites, which I am doing today.
And then there is always the marketing, my least favorite part of my life as an author. Never sure exactly where to put my time, what will work, am I just wasting my time and all of this has been done before with zero positive results. Which reminds me, I'm always looking for feedback from those who have read my books. A positive review can make a difference to someone who isn't sure if they want to buy my book. I did recently find a review for a novel I wrote; it wasn't great. But, the reader did really like my short stories. I have written more short stories than novels but one review certainly isn't going to sway me from writing more novels. And as all authors know, each book you write is better than the one before it because we are always changing and growing and improving our writing/storytelling skills. So don't give up on me! And stay tuned.
I am SO looking forward to fall and getting back to finishing up writing a few books that I've already started. If only I could focus - but each provides a challenge I accept and embrace through this journey that I'm on.
