So now the book is done, galley copies handed out, feedback received, and changes are being made. We have to make a final run through of the novel and then we can have the copies printed and ready for sale. But there is one more part to this story that I will share and it is a question every author is asked, at least once. Where did the idea for the story come from?

And yes, every story has a beginning that comes to the author, often, through unexpected ways. Or through a combination of incidents. For this novel, I thought about my own home, where it is located, and how I am up a hill, with another house down front of where my home is. That was the visual I wanted to recreate in the novel. And then I just elaborated on the picture, adding the young couple in the home down front (which there is) and my husband and I in the house up on the hill (not as old as the couple in the novel, but still....), and of course you have to have some chaos thrown in, which I did, more than enough, I think. And then the mystery of it all, what is going on, why are so many things going wrong and who is doing it? Somehow keeping interest until the very end when, hopefully, some of the questions are answered. I do like to keep things a bit open and you can come to your own conclusion. Maybe it will be what I had in mind, maybe not.

Any more questions, well, I guess you'll just have to read the book!
