Wolf Scent painting by DJ Geribo

This was my first David Baldacci read and it was a perfect summer book. Murder, kidnapping, revenge, and FBI agents, the book was full of action-packed excitement from beginning to end. Each chapter left you wanting to know what happened next.

What was the most revealing for me was noticing how many characters and how much information Baldacci had to work out before even writing the book. I'm sure Baldacci isn't a 'pantser' as I am, but more of a 'plotter' meaning he worked out the characters and story line revealing a little bit at a time until the climax at the end, tying up all loose ends.

A true 'guy' mystery novel, I did enjoy it and could easily see it made into a movie.

I rate 'Split Second' 3.5 out of 5 stars.
