This little book took me far longer to read than I expected it would. Life gets busy sometimes. But now that I've finished the book, I did enjoy it.

The story is told from a third party who interviewed the sister and brother (Claudia and Jamie). It reminded me a bit about a story I am currently working on where a boy chooses a library to hide out and live in.

In this book, a 1967 Newbery Medal winner, the two siblings hide out in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Once there they are entranced by an angel statue that the museum suspects may be the work on Michaelangelo. Their stay at the museum then becomes a hunt for the angel creator. With all of Jamie's savings paying for their food and occasionally a bus ride when their research takes them out of the museum, they end up at the home of the woman who sold the statue for a small sum to the museum, Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.

This book is a fun story that turns into a mystery for the two to solve.

I rate  "From the Mixed-Up Files...." 4 out of 5 stars
